Internship Overview:

Currently Larimer County Extension and CSU Agricultural Education have several important projects and initiatives in Agricultural Literacy. As the CoBank Center for Agricultural Education is uniquely situated at the ARDEC Experiment Station Campus, and Agricultural Education also facilitates educational opportunities at CSU Spur through the Morgridge Learning Laboratory, there exists a desire to build educational materials based on these unique facilities. This intern will begin by learning and touring the facilities, connecting with Larimer County Extension to learn needs and opportunities, creating a curriculum map of educational materials and opportunities, constructing new learning educational materials, creating a plan for promotion and engagement of programs, developing a robust plan for data collection and impact reporting on educational programs. This intern will also have the opportunity to deliver educational programs at CSU ARDEC, at CSU Spur and through state-wide dissemination. Our target is state-wide, but with an intentional focus to work with our local county office to promote activities to better connect Larimer County 4-H members and volunteers and to encourage long-term relationships and projects with our local community.

Goals, Scope and Objectives:

Agricultural literacy is an important goal to promote the understanding of the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resource (AFNR) industries. This intern, uniquely stationed at CSU ARDEC and CoBank Center for Agricultural Education, will work with Larimer County Extension, CSU Spur, and CSU ARDEC to build, promote connections, and establish relationships for youth and volunteers across Colorado. 3) Create 8 new marketing/promotional materials to promote opportunities in agricultural literacy at CSU ARDEC and at CSU Spur in the Morgridge Learning Laboratory and the GROW Youth Institute for 4-H
4) Map the Colorado GROW Youth Institute activities, and other agricultural literacy programs against CO educational Standards and practices
