Identifying technical gaps and needs for livestock producers and meat processors in Northwestern Colorado

Internship goals:
Complete a needs assessment, using surveys and focus groups, to identify techincal needs, skills gaps, and training opportunties for meat processors and livestock producers in Routt and Moffatt Counties
Convene listening sessions with livestock producers, meat processors, and associated community ag members to determine technical challenges that are impeding the livestock and meat supply chains in Routt and Moffatt Counties
Scope of the Internship:
Northwesern Colorado–specifically, Routt and Moffatt Counties
Objectives:
Distribute surveys to members of the meat and livestock supply chains within Routt and Moffatt counties to identify techincal gaps and opportunities/needs for educational experiences;
Convene focus groups with livestock producers and meat processors to identify technical gaps impacting the livestock and meat industries in Northwestern Colorado;
Utilizing focus groups and surveys, develop an action plan for addressing the needs identified by members of the meat and livestock supply chains in Moffatt and Routt Counties.
