Modern Music Creation with At-Risk Youth: Curriculum Development and Teaching with Colorado Music Bridge and 4H

OBJECTIVES
1) Mentor intern as a music teacher in the field
2) Collaborate with 4H Youth Development agent(s) and CMB directors to develop inclusive modern music creation curricula.
3) Impact at-risk youth with engaging summer music programming that dismantles barriers to access by reaching students in free, safe, and accessible spaces.
SCOPE
• Work with 2-4 outreach programs, consisting of 10-20 youth in each program. Total teaching impact: 20-80 youth, grades 5-12.
• Participate in programs in Denver and Larimer county (e.g., Strive Prep-Lake summer arts camp, Boys & Girls Club Wellington, etc.)
• Develop curricula that will be used in CMB programs, and 4H-tailored curricula that has the potential to be used nationally.
