Internship Overview:

The Moffat County Fairgrounds Trail Internship seeks to provide a CSU student with the unique opportunity to create a master plan for a trail to run alongside the Moffat County Fairgrounds. This trail will provide a safe and educational place for individuals and families to walk, jog, or bike. Throughout the trail, interactive information centers will cover topics like livestock, farming, wildlife, plants (vegetables and flowers), trees, and soil native to Moffat County. Close access to water from the sprinklers will allow shrubs, vegetables, and flowers to be planted. These information centers can also serve as sites for Extension to hold future programming. An impact statement will need to accompany the master plan to summarize all the research and findings.

Goals, Scope and Objectives:

The goal of this internship is to create a master plan that will evaluate, access, plan, and design a sustainable recreational & educational trail.
The scope of this internship gives the intern the opportunity to be creative in their design to make this trial a one-of-a-kind experience and to work with key local officials, contractors, or construction personnel to conduct all work relevant to the internship.
The objectives of this internship are to evaluate and implement the effectiveness of a recreational and educational trail to Moffat County. Components to consider when writing the impact statement could be health, transportation, conservation, environment, economy, revitalization, community development, and identity.

With which stakeholder group(s) will the intern work?

They will have fully evaluated, accessed, planned, and designed a sustainable trail. Collect, analyze and utilize research findings, and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with various key stakeholders.
